I’ve managed to catch the one and only INF, who is an amazing artist, and rapper from South London and just general creative.
And yeah, I’d love for you to tell our audience a bit about you and what you do.
INF:
All right.
So, yes, name INF, previously known as Infecta.
And like Jas has already said, I’m a creative polymath, but I’m very passionate about
everything to do with arts, multidisciplinary artists, run a brand called Imagine and Inspire, which is a clothing company, but it’s also a charity, it’s also a community,
we give back 10% of all our profit to the homeless, working in partnership with Brixton Suite Kitchen, shout out them.
And yeah, I do a lot, like a lot of people in London, I do a lot.
And currently, I guess something that you guys can watch out for is my next EP,
Back to Black, coming soon.
JASMINE KAHLIA:
Amazing.
And a question I’ve got for you is,
what is the most essential thing that you do as part of your artistic process?
Like something you can’t live without?
INF:
That’s a tough one.
The most essential thing that I do as part of the artistic process -
But the first thing that comes to mind really is, for some reason, meditate.
I think the world of today is very noisy. Everyone and anyone is creating at every moment.
And it didn’t used to be like that. And it definitely is undeniably some oversaturation that’s now taking place. And therefore, as an artist, to make sure that I’m being sharp with my target or with my pen and pad, I need to take time out, almost like fine tuning.
So I treat that now as very essential to make sure that you’re not just regurgitating what you’re hearing. but you’re formulating some authentic ideas of your own that come from within. So I take time to go within.
JASMINE KAHLIA:
That’s really profound.
And lastly, this question is outside of artistic realm, but what is your favourite sport either to participate in or to watch?
INF:
Favourite sport, basketball. Straight.
Yeah, to participate in and to watch. Yeah, I think the simple-minded kid in me when I was younger loved football.
And then when I got introduced to basketball, I was like, oh, wait, this one exercises both my legs and my hands at the same time. So I just, yeah, logical brain kicked in, like, all right, that’s it. I like this.
